The JW Elder Who Started All the Insanity that was bound to eventually start. This Elder Loves Trouble!
by ReligionOfHatred inin order to understand what is happening you have to start from the beginning of our saga.
about nine years ago a elder with asperger's syndrome found out my family member almost came to blows with our next door neighbor who is so successful, he probably makes $2 million a year net-income with all his businesses and investments.
the co-owner of the property got angry because our neighbor did not like certain breeds of dogs, the fact was he was mauled by the breed elder bucket-head owned and elder bucket-head refused to fix the fence and so his dog would continually show up on my neighbors front door harassing his little dogs and growl.. elder asperger's heard my dad and his friend talking about uncle bucket-head's near blows even though they were whisphering at book study, his ears are good when it comes to seeking out sin and finding ways to bring brothers before the elders.

Agree with Oubliette. When I read posts that are very subjective, I feel the need to hear the other side. Your posts are charged with emotion and with what appears to be bias opinion. You have to work on being brief and sounding more objective.Link +4 / -0 -

They're coming to get me! =)
by Mrs. Eden inhello friends.
my fleshy sister is seriously getting to my nerves.
she's my only (and younger) sister, and as you know, is married to an uber-circuit overseer.

Mrs. Eden,
As a Never a JW who happens to care little about social ties based on kinship, common religion, race, or country of origin, my suggestions may be too harsh and not appropriate for your situation. I will say it only so you know my personal choice if I ever were in your shoes. The hell with them!
One good thing of your telling the story is that it reinforces my belief that I have to fight superstition and cults to be able to give the next generation a better world.

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015) - Generation explained again
by Designer Stubble inguess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

elkatire 1980,
You missed the note right below the title "as told by Kevin Williams", not the Governing Body. They are clear again. Masters of deceit, no doubt about it.

Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?
by EdenOne ini do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?

Yes, "apostates" ruined my life. Now I am a social outcast Three years ago I thought about JW's a bit crazy, but good and well behaved people. I even let my children be raised by the governing body. Today, thanks to you apostates, I have developed my first case of hate. I hate JW's leaders and, even though I still like JW's rank and file, their conversations always remind me of the people who brainwashed them, their leaders. So quite often I find myself wanting to walk away from any JW gathering. I have been ruined, but I am suing JWN JWFacts, James Penton, Carl Olof Jonsson, Raymond Franz Estate, JW Survey. and anyone here with strong opinions. I deserve monetary compensation for all the anger that they have induced in my once naive and delusional mind. "Outlaw" will be exempted because he makes me hate the GB with a laugh. -

Today's meeting & WT 7/2015 study "Work to enhance the spiritual paradise"
by Mrs. Eden inso, much against my inclination, i went to the meeting this sunday morning.
just starting to fade, but i needed to do it so that it doesn't look like my hubby turned my head during last week's vacations.
since i'm not just disappearing cold turkey, i went.

I am glad you are here Mrs. Eden. You add the emotional and humanitarian touch to the discussion. You can set priorities right. Most of us went for the rational discussion first, and even got stuck there for a while: Many of us would say about the WT leaders:
"They lie about 607", "they misquote archaeologists, historians, scientists", "Geology does not support the biblical account of the universal flood", "Creationists/JW's have no case"
But you noticed the more important stuff, that they don't do a damn thing about alleviating the pain of the needy, the sick, the lonely. More often than not, they make things worse.

I am very glad to see many women escaping the clutches of the Watchtower. The picture of women in the org is still sad (almost 2/3 of JW's are women). They do most of the work, they truly sacrifice their lives for "Jehovah". In my wife's congregation, and many around the area, you see lots of middle age single women who wanted to marry, but can't find any ministerial servants or elders, even below par publishers. They still look happy in social gatherings, but I wonder how they feel when they are at home all alone. Is the hope of paradise enough to motivate them? or are they wondering, as many have, that they have wasted their lives for nothing. I don't mean to imply that all there is for women is marriage. In modern times the sky is the limit when it comes to options for life fulfillment for men and women. However, in conservative, old fashion house holds, house wife is what is expected of women. And many JW women badly want it, but don't even get that.Link +1 / -0 -

Why would it disappear? I hope someone makes the translation to English and Spanish. I didn't understand a word, but it looks good. I hope someone volunteers to make it accessible to a much wider audience.Link +2 / -0 -

Welcome to the best part of your life.
If you live is SoCal (U.S.), I will treat you and your wife to dinner. I won't bring my wife though. She is still in, unfortunately. I can bring my son. He's never been in and never will.

no religion means freedom from superstition and dogma, and the opportunity to explore uncharted territory, and expand our knowledge and the human potential.Link +2 / -0 -
